Produced alongside a mesh finished option, this style was the earliest of the Eames aluminium range originally intending to be used outside as well as indoors. It was soon realized that the design was better suited for indoor purposes and, more importantly, for the office environment within which they would find their fame.

Individual Characteristics

The leather on these chairs is in an aged, used, condition, there are signs of use on the edges and in the finish of the leather too; they would benefit from a good nourish. There is also a lot of age related use evident on the arms which give them an aged character.

The painted metal does show signs of its age but the colour is still strong.

The label on the underside indicates this chair was produced in 1992 by Herman Miller.

Investment Details

The Eames Herman Miller Aluminium group have always been popular pieces for both collectors and for the average user. As an investment piece, as with many things, the older the better but as well used and good used pieces, these may be a little aged, but they should still prove to be reasonable investment pieces.
