This award winning, original, Magistretti Maralunga sofa for Cassina is finished in sumptuous black leather and is just as comfortable as it is famed to be! The clever two-fold design really helps this sofa stand out allowing the back rest to be shaped into a clever back rest with a head rest too!

Designed in 1973 and released a year later, this remarkable design was so well received it has never ceased production to this day and continues to still work effortlessly in almost any design style you may have. It is famously noted that Magistretti only sought to design furniture that would last and, so far, Cassina have proven him to be very much right.

Individual Characteristics

This sofa is a good few years old but has stood the test of time well. The leather is still very good with only some age related scuffs around the lower part of the sofa frame, but the seats are still very good with no sagging, tears or cuts and the adjustable back rest still works as it should.

The sofa measures (approximately): 238cm in length x 85cm deep x 70cm high with a seat height of 43cm

Investment Details

Magistretti very much sought to create furniture that would last and last and this desire definitely paid off with the likes of this sofa and how well made it is. Naturally, the first editions of these sofas command a very high investment value, but thanks to the consistency Cassina were able to provide, even later editions (believed around the 90s), still see themselves as being great investment pieces.
