We are very proud to present an exceptionally rare, completely original, vintage Herman Miller Nelson Swag Leg fiberglass MAA dining chair finished in raw umber! A rarely seen colour for the MAA, this is the ideal collector’s piece and is as comfortable as it looks with that flexible, ergonomic design Nelson pioneered!

George Nelson became the design director of Herman Miller and had the opportunity to create and release some of his own products which took the design world be storm. The focus was ergonomic and affordable furniture and he managed to do just that! The MAA was released along with the DAF as the dining chair options and their ergonomic feel was a first of its kind design which focused on the form of the body first.

Individual Characteristics

This all original chair is in excellent vintage condition. There are no cracks or dents in the fiberglass and the shock mounts are still strong.

The Herman Miller ‘H’ medallion and the patent label indicate this chair was produced during the middle-time of this chairs production era, between 1960 and 1962.
