One of the six original colours, this vintage parchment Eames Herman Miller arm chair embodies the iconic status of this desirable design on its newer RAR base. The condition of this original shell is great considering its age and combined with the light ash wood of the used RAR base it results in a great rocking chair!

The Rocking chair was one of the first bases offered for the revolutionary fiberglass series but sadly production stopped in 1968. This cessation of production, however, has helped make fully original examples highly sought-after collector’s pieces and this interest has helped Herman Miller decide to re-introduce it as an option with their newer fiberglass series.

Individual Characteristics

The shell is in a good vintage condition with no cracks or dents and only very minor dirt and small age related marks on the shell surface, images available upon request.

The three dots in a triangle formation indicates this is a shell produced in 3M’s factory for Herman Miller and was produced between 1955-1957.
