Lemon Yellow Herman Miller Vintage Original Eames DAX Arm Shell Chair
An example of a used, original vintage Lemon yellow 2nd generation zenith arm shell on an original DAX H base. This highly fibrous lemon yellow arm shell has a beautiful light yellow shade, a wonderful alternative if you want more of subtle colour.
The earliest shells from Zenith were, in some ways, the experimental phase in the shells’ production. The first generation rope-edged shells were only around for a couple of years before the mould was changed. After this, a multitude of embossed logos, labels and different sized shock mounts found their way under the shells until they found a standard format which was used by Summit Prime and Cincinnati Plastics.
This lemon yellow zenith arm shell is in fantastic condition- no major marks or cracks on the shell, and will just need some cleaning to revive its shine. The silver DAX base is in good, used and stable condition.
The Early Cincinnati Milacron logo indicates that it was manufactured around 1958-1965.
The Eames’s shell chairs have become highly coveted pieces. Their popularity has helped ensure their continued production today. As with many things, their investment value is determined by many numerous factors, but the main ones are age, condition, originality and colour. As a great example of this vintage classic, it will prove to be a good investment piece.
